The US Embassy in Qatar has officially announced the opening of the prestigious Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for the 2027-2028 academic year. This opportunity invites qualified Qatari faculty members, researchers, and professionals to apply for the chance to conduct advanced research or lecture at leading universities across the United States.

The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program supports academic excellence and cross-cultural collaboration by enabling Qatari scholars to spend between three to ten months at top-tier American institutions. Participants can engage in post-doctoral research, teach, or pursue a combined lecture and research program while benefiting from cutting-edge research environments and diverse interdisciplinary networks.

Dr. Siham Al-Qaradawi, a previous Fulbright scholar, shared her experience of conducting research at Temple University, where she gained valuable exposure to drug discovery and pharmaceutical research, which greatly advanced her academic career. The program, which promotes two-way academic exchange, also invites American scholars to Qatar, fostering international collaboration in research and innovation.

The application deadline for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is October 15, 2026. Eligible Qatari citizens with strong academic credentials are encouraged to apply. More details on eligibility, the fields of study supported, and the application process are available on the US Embassy in Qatar’s website.
