Qatar Payment System Transactions Total QR18.6bn in November 2025

Qatar registered QR18.626bn in payment system transactions during November 2025, with a total of 62.8 million transactions processed. According to the Qatar Central Bank (QCB), the breakdown of these transactions highlighted a significant shift. Point of sale transactions made up 51%, e-commerce accounted for 23%, the Fawran instant payment service represented 24%, and Qatar mobile payments (QPM) contributed 2%.

The QCB’s latest card payment statistics revealed a strong increase in transactions. The combined value of point of sale (POS) and e-commerce transactions reached QR13.8092bn. Of that, e-commerce transactions amounted to QR4.347bn, with 11.438 million transactions. Meanwhile, point of sale transactions accounted for QR9.462bn, processed through 48.11 million transactions.

Surge in Qatar Payment System Transactions: E-Commerce and POS Growth

Qatar payment system transactions November 2025 saw substantial growth, particularly in e-commerce and point of sale platforms. POS solutions now offer secure, efficient payment processing, supporting contactless cards, eWallets, mobile PoS (mPOS), and QR codes. This flexibility has led to a rise in both transaction volume and value across the country.

The surge in e-commerce and POS transactions reflects growing consumer adoption of digital payment methods, supported by Qatar’s advanced payment infrastructure.

Fawran and Qatar Mobile Payment Systems Contribute to Growth

The Qatar payment system transactions November 2025 report also highlighted significant progress in the Fawran instant payment service and Qatar Mobile Payments (QPM). Fawran processed 2.818 million transactions, totaling QR4.527bn. With 3.561 million registered accounts, this service continues to grow as a trusted, efficient payment option, aligning with Qatar’s Third Financial Sector Strategic Plan.

Qatar Mobile Payments saw 1.241 million wallets registered, with QR289.544m in transactions and 441,570 transaction volumes. This demonstrates the increasing role of mobile payments in the country’s evolving digital economy.
