The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Qatar Chamber have agreed to expand economic cooperation and accelerate private sector growth. Senior officials from both sides met in Sharjah to explore new frameworks for collaboration and business development.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, hosted Hamad Ali Muaiql Al-Marri, Director of Committees and Business Councils at the Qatar Chamber. A high-level Qatari delegation joined the meeting, alongside Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of SCCI’s International Relations Department, and senior executives from both chambers.

The discussions focused on institutional collaboration, creation of sectoral working groups, and sharing of best practices. Officials reviewed how joint programs can enhance member services, improve policy advocacy, and strengthen cross-border trade and investment.

SCCI showcased several initiatives designed to empower private enterprises. These include digital transformation tools, capacity-building workshops, and market access platforms. The Qatari team expressed interest in adapting these programs to enhance Qatar’s business ecosystem.

Both chambers agreed to establish joint working groups targeting trade facilitation, investment promotion, and knowledge sharing. These efforts aim to align development strategies and boost regional economic integration.

Officials highlighted that closer coordination will help reduce trade barriers and create new opportunities for innovation. They also expect stronger networks between entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders across both markets.

The meeting reflected a shared vision to build a competitive and resilient private sector. Through collaboration and knowledge exchange, the chambers plan to support sustainable economic partnerships that benefit businesses in Qatar and the UAE.

This strengthened alliance is set to open new avenues for investment, drive innovation, and foster inclusive growth across the Gulf region.
