An 11-day regional security exercise, known as Arabian Gulf Security 4, concluded in Qatar this week, marking a significant step in strengthening cooperation between the Gulf states and the US. Hosted by Qatar, the exercise brought together security and law enforcement units from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, alongside specialized forces from the US.
The Arabian Gulf Security 4 drill included over 260 hours of training across 70 field-based scenarios, designed to enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces. The closing ceremony, attended by interior ministers and senior security officials from the participating nations, underscored the growing commitment to regional stability and collaboration.
This exercise took place amidst heightened tensions between the US and Iran, with ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation. It is seen as an essential step in reinforcing security protocols in the Gulf region and enhancing the ability of the US and its regional allies to respond to emerging security challenges.
