Nebras Energy, a Qatari public joint-stock company, has secured two key power generation projects in Oman. These projects are the Misfah Power Plant, with 1,700 megawatts capacity, and the Duqm Power Plant, with 877 megawatts capacity. Both projects will help meet Oman’s rising electricity demand. They are being developed under 20-year agreements with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (Namaa).
Nebras Energy will begin construction soon, and the plants are set to start commercial operations in April 2028. Full operations are expected by April 2029.
Project Details: Misfah and Duqm Power Plants
Nebras Energy will hold a 49% stake in the Misfah Power Plant. The project partners include United Water and Electricity Company (44%) and Bahwan Infrastructure Services Company (7%). In the Duqm Power Plant, Nebras Energy will acquire a 30% stake, with United Water and Electricity Company (30%), Korean Western Power Company (35%), and Bahwan Infrastructure Services Company (5%) also involved.
